TIndia’s Supreme Court has stayed the Delhi High Court order that granted bail to former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the Unnao rape case.
On December 23, the Delhi High Court suspended Sengar’s life sentence and granted him conditional bail while his appeal was pending.
FiChief Justice of India Surya Kant stated that due to “peculiar facts” and Sengar’s conviction in another case, the bail order cannot operate.
